8TH GRADE PARENT LETTER
May 1, 2023
Dear School 21 8th Grade Parents & Guardians
This letter serves to inform you of information regarding upcoming 8th grade events. We will be having Dinner Dance which will take place on Wednesday, June 14th from 6:00-10:00pm at the Brownstone House in Paterson. Students were informed that exceptions for attending this event will be made should student misbehavior occur. Cost will be communicated to you in writing as soon as the menus is finalized.
The eighth-grade graduation will occur on Tuesday, June 27th at 9:00am in the School 21 Gymnasium. This year the Paterson Board of Education has established a policy that our eighth grade graduates will not be permitted to wear caps and gowns. For this reason, we are asking that you make plans for appropriate dress for your son or daughter. Appropriate clothing for male students will be dress slacks, shirt and tie and shoes. Female students can either wear a dress or dress slacks, blouse and shoes.
We have always had a dignified graduation that parents and students have has as a memory for life. We want you and your child to have the same memory this year. The students have begun practicing the song they will perform at this event. We know purchasing an outfit for your son or daughter may be more costly than the Cap &Gown, this is why we wanted to give you enough time to plan for your son or daughter’s special day.
As always, Thank You in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
JoAnne Riviello
Atentamente,
JoAnne Riviello
